Best 5 selling cars in the UK 2020

Ever been wondering what the best-selling car in the UK is? The Society of Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) has all the answers and below we've got the latest list of the top 5 best sellers.

Top of the list we see Ford's ever-popular hatchback that still retains top spot overall - managing 3,845 registrations in October and 43,281 sales for the year to date.

1. Ford Fiesta  – 43,281 registrations

2. Vauxhall Corsa – 39,692 registrations

The Vauxhall Corsa was the UK's fourth best-selling car in 2019, but it's doing even better so far in 2020. The brand is closing down the gap to the Fiesta which sits pretty in the first place. 

3. Volkswagen Golf – 35,014 registrations

4. Ford Focus – 33,965 registrations

The Ford Focus had an October to forgot with 2,823 sales - just the eighth best-selling car for the month. That means it drops to fourth for the year so far, with the Mercedes A-Class closing in fast below it.

5. Mercedes A-Class - 31,604 registrations
