Mark James Williams, MBE is a local professional snooker player who has been World Champion twice, in 2000 and 2003 and is oftenk noted for his single-ball potting, for which he has earned the nickname, The Welsh Potting Machine. He has been also been ranked the world number 1 for a total of three seasons in his career.
The first left-handed player to win the World Championship, has long been a friend of Mark Skinner (also a keen snooker player) who has closely followed Mark Williams' career often watching and supporting from sidelines as he makes another of the many competitive century brakes of which he has compiled over 250 throughout his career.
Sponsoring Mark Williams was always going to be an easy choice for Ron Skinner and Sons, given his close friendship with Mark Skinner and we all at Ron Skinner and Sons look foward to watching Mark Williams progress in the sport and will be cheering him on as we all hope he wins another World Championship in the not to distant future.
Tredegar Town Band is one of the most famous bands in Wales, the band has over a 160 year history and is proud of its heritage. The Tredegar Town Band can be traced back to 1849 when they lead a procession to celebrate the opening of a new mill for the Tredegar Iron and Coal Company, although the Iron and Coal industries may have gone the Tredegar Town Band remains strong.
The Tredegar Town Band not only remains strong but has prospered in recent years and become one of the elite brass band in both Wales and the UK, whih has seen the Tredegar Town Band become the 2010 British Open Champions and the 2011 International Masters Champions.
Ron Skinner and Sons have long since been a supporter of their local Town band and has welcomed the opportunity to sponser the Tredegar Town Band in recent years both Ro Skinner and Sons and the Tredegar Town Band look forward to many more sucessful years ahead of both of them as they look to the future and face the many new and exciting challenges ahead.
Trefil RFC play on one of the highest field in Wales with breathtaking views of both the Sirhowy Valley and the Brecon Beacons. Named the men of stone due to the quarry being entwined with the village of Trefil, the club has a long and steeped history within the village of Trefil and the larger town of Tredegar.
Trefil RFC are a weel known and respected RFC and have however always been viewed as a team to be reckoned with in and around the Gwent Districts where the majority of their games are played. The club has enjoyed many success over the years were highlights include playing in the old National Stadium and more recently in the Millennium Stadium on two occassions coming away with victories.
Our links with Terfil RFC are strong with family links to a past Captin Lee Farrer (08-09) and current player who not only works in our transport section but also is the son of Gwen Skinner who can often be found with husband Philip on the sidelines proudly supporting Lee and the Trefil side in all weathers.
Situated in the Vale of Glamorgan, Dinas Powys Football Club has worked hard to become an integral part of village life over the last 30 years, with this in mind they have developed their Mission Statement.

It is the intention of Dinas Powys Football Club to give every individual the opportunity to play football, at all ages, to progress to a standard they enjoy, in a friendly, sporting, thriving community.
Having developed their Mission Statement Dinas Powys Football Club have expanded and now has a mixture of Junior, Senior and Ladies teams.
Ron Skinner and Sons started sponsoring the club a number of years ago when current Chairman Gareth Musgrove, a long term friend of Philip Skinner, joined Dinas Powys Football Club and needed to find a sponsor he looked to Philip and as they say the rest is history.
We are pleased to announce that we have agreed to supply Pen-Y-Cwm School with a vehicle free of charge on a six-monthly basis. Philip Skinner, director for Ron Skinner and Sons Ltd, said: “We were more than happy to give the little people carrier to the school. We always try to work locally and have done so for a long time.
“At the special needs school, some of the children need more care and when we were told that the school was without a minibus, we wanted to help.”
