RPM Vehicle Logistics is the car carrying company that's come a very long way in a short time. It may be one of the newest names in the trucking business but those in the know will tell you that RPM is firmly on the road to success.
Tredegar based RPM's fleet of 16 transporters may have only been on the road since July 2002 but the people behind the scenes have a lot more mileage on the clock.
Our fleet includes several DAF XF's, a couple of French-built trucks, a towering Renault Magnum 480 and a special mini-arctic based around a Mascott with a big-cab conversion
RPM doesn't skimp on the engine spec of its trucks: with 480bhp on tap - the DAF drawbars are well equiped for operation at their 38-tonne maximum. With
top-quality equipment on offer it's no surprise that
RPM is able to employ some of the best drivers in the business
Car transports are notorious for optimised load space at the cost of driver comfort. RPM prefer to place the needs of their drivers above profits, opting to sacrifice load space to provide a more spacious driving enviroment.
"I wouldn't want to spend four nights a week in a small flat-roof cab, and I don't expect that of my drivers," explains Phil. "Our transporters carry 9 big saloons, 10 focus-sized cars or 11 small hatchbacks. I don't think that we're really losing out as it's rare that you can fill a transporter right up with different-model cars in the same load.
